WE'VE GOT A MAKERSPACE!
We have been graciously funded by the Government of Canada through the Canadian Infrastructure Grant to renovate and create a Makerspace! Makerspaces, also referred to as hackerspaces and fablabs, are creative, DIY (do-it-yourself) spaces where people can gather to create, invent, and learn using software, electronics, craft and hardware supplies, tools, and more. We at BUPL have created a room that focuses on the digital side. We have a computer (Mac), an iPad, a scanner, a green screen and a camera, all available for use in-house. Free access to all materials are available by booking the space in advance. The room can also be used as a meeting space, for whatever reason.
Funding for our computers have come from various grants.
